Terry McQuay is President and Founder of Nymity Inc. An accomplished speaker, inventor, and privacy compliance and accountability expert, Terry is author of “The Privacy Office Guide to Demonstrating Accountability” and a patent holder for demonstrating privacy compliance. A Certified Information Privacy Professional/Manager (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/C, CIPP/G, and CIPM), Terry is Managing Editor of the current edition of the IAPP Certification Foundations textbook entitled “Foundations of Information Privacy and Data Protection”.

A member of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL) and a leadership member of The Information Accountability Foundation (IAF), Terry is on the Advisory Council for The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF), Privacy by Design (PbD) Ambassador, and a Fellow for the Ponemon Institute. Terry is also involved with the USCIB, BIAC, ICC, and attends OECD and APEC privacy meetings. Before founding Nymity, Terry was the Partner at a security solutions firm and spent a number of years at Hewlett-Packard. Terry holds an Honours B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Guelph.

Oleg Lemeshko leads technology development at Nymity, with a focus on product and platform architecture. Oleg is a technology pioneer, having architected over 25 online and mobile solutions on Microsoft (.NET), Apple (iOS), and Google (Android) platforms, using Agile approach. Before joining Nymity, Oleg founded SiteSystems Inc. in 2006, a digital technology development company, where he also established Microsoft, Sitecore, and Coveo technology partnership programs.

Oleg started his career as a programmer in the banking industry, advancing through progressive roles before becoming CTO at Logos Corporation and then moving to Canada. Prior to founding SiteSystems, Oleg developed software solutions with various technologies for major Canadian companies. In addition to various IT certifications from Microsoft and Sitecore, Oleg holds an MSc from Dnipropetrovsk National University, with a Major in Applied Mathematics.

Ray Pathak is a seasoned privacy professional (CIPP/C, CIPT, FIP) with over 10 years of operational privacy experience. Ray is an expert in both privacy compliance and privacy management, and most recently facilitated Nymity’s “Getting to Accountability” workshops in Toronto, New York City, New Jersey, Detroit, and Las Vegas. In his current role Ray leads the America’s solutions team that works with global CPO’s in recommending appropriate Nymity privacy management solutions.

Prior to joining Nymity, Ray most recently served as privacy officer for Target Canada where he lead the Canadian Privacy program through heightened regulatory attention and media scrutiny of New York Times ‘Pregnancy Analytics’ article and the 2013 ‘Credit Card Data Breach’. Before Target, Ray built and managed the privacy program at D+H, a diverse technology based service provider to financial institutions. Ray holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario.

As Managing Director of Nymity’s Latin American business, José Alejandro Bermúdez is a pioneer in establishing data protection regimes and an esteemed legal expert in data protection for Latin America. José Alejandro was the inaugural Deputy Superintendent for the Protection of Personal Data in Colombia, and he charted the path for Latin American data protection as the promoter of the Colombian Accountability Guidelines published by the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC).

As a member of the Governmental commission appointed to draft the Colombian Data Protection Law (Law 1581 of 2012) and its secondary regulations, José Alejandro helped shape the data protection regulatory landscape in Latin America. A renowned international thought leader and speaker, José Alejandro was ad-hoc observer to APEC’s Privacy Subgroup and the OECD Working Party on Information Security and Privacy in the Digital Economy, a member of the Colombian OECD Accession Mission (privacy and digital economy), and served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Ibero-American Network of Data Protection (RIPD). Before his term as Deputy Superintendent, José Alejandro served as Advisor to the Superintendent of Industry and Commerce and Coordinator of the Financial Data Protection Group of the entity.

Prior to his term in government, José Alejandro was a partner at a leading Colombian law firm. José Alejandro holds a Master’s Degree in Competition Law and Intellectual Property from ESADE and a postgraduate degree in publishing from Universidad Pompeu Fabra, both in Barcelona, Spain and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.

Leading Nymity’s marketing and business development initiatives, Nisha Lakhani-Bandali is an expert in both, privacy management and marketing. Nisha joins Nymity with an extensive background in privacy and risk management within government, healthcare, and financial services industries. Prior to Nymity, Nisha has led privacy efforts for various provincial electronic health records initiatives in her role at eHealth Ontario.

As a Freedom of Information and Privacy Specialist at the Scarborough Hospital, Nisha built the privacy management program to ensure compliance, lead risk management deliverables for Accreditation Canada, and is recognized for building the hospital’s first ever Freedom of Information Program. Most recently, Nisha has led privacy compliance and incident management initiatives at Davis and Henderson as a Privacy Program Manager. Nisha holds an MBA from Ivey Business School at University of Western Ontario and an Honours B.Sc. in Life Sciences from University of Toronto.

Paul Breitbarth joined Nymity in 2016 as Director of Strategic Research and Regulator Outreach. He is based at Nymity’s office in The Hague, the Netherlands where he works with organizations across Europe to support their privacy offices. Paul also leads Nymity’s current Regulator Projects, focused on demonstrating compliance to the European General Data Protection Regulation and data protection process certifications. He is a regular speaker at privacy events and contributes to various privacy courses. Paul is a Visiting Fellow at Maastricht University’s European Centre for Privacy and Cybersecurity.

Before joining Nymity, Paul served as senior international officer at the Dutch Data Protection Authority. He was an active member of various Article 29 Working Party subgroups, co-authoring opinions on the data protection reform, surveillance, the Privacy Shield and others. In 2015, he organized the International Privacy Conference in Amsterdam. Paul holds a Master of Laws from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

Meaghan is a Contributing Researcher to Nymity’s book, “A Privacy Office Guide to Demonstrating Compliance” and Co-Author to the “Nymity Corporate Privacy Compliance Handbook,” published by Lexis Nexus.

She is also a Contributing Editor to the IAPP Certification textbook entitled, “Foundations of Information Privacy and Data Protection”, and contributed the appendices to the IAPP Book, “Building a Privacy Program – A Practitioner’s Guide”. Brenda Lint joined Nymity in 2007 and is Director of Operations and Quality Control. Brenda plays a critical role at Nymity ensuring seamless operations, managing QA, and is instrumental in the development of Nymity’s privacy solutions. Prior to Nymity, Brenda held a series of progressive roles at Xerox including the privacy office at Xerox Canada which was responsible for both customer and employee privacy. During her time at Xerox, Brenda helped with the implementation of privacy contracts and privacy policies, as well as employee training and awareness.
