Increasing Data Protection Awareness and Training February 2010
James Leaton Gray Head of Information Policy and Compliance BBC |
What is your audience and what makes them a challenge?
The BBC employs over 6000 journalists as well as thousands of other programme makers. We expect them to challenge authority and ask difficult questions, and we can expect nothing less from them when it comes to internal compliance. They can sniff out insincerity or tokenism at 20 paces, so our training, awareness campaigns and compliance processes all need to be robust enough to survive such scrutiny.
Other topics of interest in this interview include:
- Identifying champions within a company
- The key factors of personal success
- Challenges to making compliance work
- Making data protection a part of company culture
