How was the self-assessment tool created? What was the motivation for and history of the creation of the self-assessment tool?
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) produced the PIPEDA Self-Assessment tool to help medium and large organizations develop and implement good privacy governance and management. The OPC has always held that privacy is good for business; by improving privacy practices, business can foster trust and develop a competitive advantage.
