Nymity views privacy accountability is an organization being responsible for privacy by implementing an effective privacy program, maintaining compliance and being able to demonstrate they are doing both. In other words, an organization must be responsible for personal information and be able to “account for it” within the organization and when it flows to business partner by being able to demonstrate the status of their privacy program to internal stakeholders such as senior management and, if desired (or required), to external stakeholders such as Regulators, Commissioners, Data Protection Authorities, Attorney Generals and business partners.
