Nymity has a straight-forward mandate – assisting you to be compliant and accountable for privacy. We believe that to be compliant an organization implements a set of policies and procedures for the organization’s handling of personal data and a privacy management program to ensure these policies and procedure are observed. This makes the organization responsible for privacy. If the organization has the ability to demonstrate their program is working effectively, they are both responsible and can account for it, making them accountable for privacy. Nymity provides a compliance and accountability solution to ensure you are compliant, accountable and have the ability to demonstrate both.
History in Accountability
Nymity was founded in Canada in 2002 and has become a global research organization supporting every privacy regime in the world. One of the fundamentals of privacy in Canada is the accountability principle established in 1995 in the CSA Privacy Principles. Since Nymity’s beginning, we have included accountability as a core component of our research methodology, not just for Canada, but everywhere in the world. Nymity’s team of privacy experts have analyzed over 6000 documents and 400 privacy laws, codes and standards against the accountability privacy principle. In 2011 Nymity announced an Accountability Reporting tool and is planning for more accountability resources.

Nymity has an expert team of privacy lawyers and former chief privacy officers that are 100% dedicated to producing the content for Nymity’s Research Tools (Nymity does not offer consulting). The expert team utilizes Nymity’s controls-based research methodology that has been proven to provide customers the information they need to gain the knowledge they want and saves them huge amounts of time doing so.
